About
I am an architecture photographer based in Los Angeles, drawn to architecture while I was teaching a creative photography class at Southern California Institute of Architecture, a top ranked U.S. architecture school in Los Angeles. I was amazed by the work ethic, the intellectual curiosity, and the conceptual process of architects and students there. It instilled in me a search for excellence and depth in my own work.
I have worked for some of the best firms in the world, and have met many of the world’s leading architects, but what really keeps me interested and involved is simply the making of excellent images and all that it takes to do that. It’s something that comes naturally and I rarely stop thinking about it for very long.
Digital post-production has become a high level craft. It demands the same taste and discrimination as the choosing of shots and the nuances of lighting and composition. I do all my own processing and post because I believe the care and personal finishing will distinguish my work and because I love to do it.
I also love teaching and making my own images, many of which may be seen on this website. All this together is a way of life and I’m doing it all the time: or I’m hiking, or cooking, or out in the landscape or the city shooting with my son.
I look forward to the opportunity of working or chatting with you. Please call me at 213 804 5415, even if you only have questions about how to get something done or when it is appropriate to hire a photographer. I’m here to help.
